Lapa rios hotel – oso peninsula – costa rica
Contributor:  Adam13
set in a private nature reserve spread over 1,000 acres of central america's last remaining lowland tropical rainforest in costa rica,

lapa rios ecolodge overlooks the pristine point where the golfo dulce meets the wild pacific ocean, making it the destination that matches every one's idea of paradise.

what made this destination special – i was traveling with my wife and 2 boys (4,7).  i am very outdoorsy, as are my boys in training – my wife couldn’t be more of a city slicker.  although this resort was in the middle of no placeville – it gave all of us a great experience.

for my wife the food and wine was first cl****.  for me and the boys and nanny the wild life and bugs were also first cl****.  i took a walk with my 7 year old and a guide – trying the different herbs – i don’t think we will every forget it.  it was awesome.

i guess the one caveat is that the hotel is not on the water – its up in the forest&****ip;  the beach is walking distance and they offer a shuttle.

overall my sense of costa rica is that it is growing at such a rapid pace that time is of the essence.  a lot of areas that were pristine 5 years ago have quickly become bad tourist destinations.  www.laprios.com .
