The obsessive compulsive disorder is essentially an anxiety disorder in which the people suffer from unnecessary thoughts, feelings and sensations. These intrusive thoughts are a source of producing discomfort, fear, images, and apprehension. Children as well as adults are affected by this problem and there is no exact treatment to get rid of this disorder. There are many themes of this disorder, one of the common of which is get contaminated by germs, and in order to ease this fear the person goes on washing the hands until they become cracked and sour.


Although the main causes of obsessive-compulsive disorder are not known. However, the chief theories include:

1-      Certain changes in the brain functions or the in the natural chemistry of the body or brain

2-      Environmental influence

3-      Insufficient level of serotonin

4-      Prolonged illness

5-      Abuse and death of the loved one
